Tena Koutou Katoa
Welcome back to a chilly term 2, we hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable break.
We would like to thank all of our parents for helping make last term such a great success. We had an eventful and exciting camp – The Amazing race, which saw us travel from Waitangi to Opononi and on to the breathtaking, Kai Iwi lakes. Well done to all of our Epro 8 teams who trained very hard and achieved some great results during the Epro8 challenge.
We have some exciting events coming up this term as well, winter sports day at Kensington Park, our Matariki focus later in the term and the Moana hub Science fair in Week 10. Check the dates on our class newsletter as we would love to see you come and be a part of these events.
Our school-wide focus for this term is Challenge. This involves a continuation of the work in term one focusing on team-building, getting to know each other and working with our new class members in lots of different ways. A Challenge focus allows us to explore our strengths, weaknesses and to challenge ourselves beyond what we think we are capable of.
Tech has been restructured this year and will run all year. The Year 8 children will attend Tech on a Wednesday in Terms 1& 2. The Year 7 students will start Tech at Manaia View on a Wednesday in Terms 3 &4. All permission slips and information about Tech for our Year 7s will be going home Week 9 and if this could be returned back to school as soon as possible please.
