IThe PTA held our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday and welcomed five new members:

Jo Kelly, Maureen Barradell (Treasurer), Denise Etienne, Tomieke McDiarmid (Secretary), Mike Podesta and Cindy Revington.

Jane Arlidge is back as Chairperson and Steve Close, Sally Hume, Jakki Tuhaka and Lesley Ashcroft are back as committee members to support Ngunguru School PTA.

We said goodbye to Lindley Clements our outgoing Treasurer – Lindley has been part of the PTA for more than five years and will be missed.  Thank you Lindley for your tireless work and knowledge.  Lindley has assured us that she will still be around to help out and provide support to the incoming Treasurer Maureen.

Thanks again to all the new members and members that have agreed to stay on – you are a great bunch!!

We have an exciting year planned – Fire Works Night for 2010 will be on a Saturday - 13/11/2010 – it is planned that we have a Gala Day celebration at Ngunguru School – place this date in your diary now!

In the third term there will be an Art Celebration – keep an eye out for the date.

Ngunguru School PTA constitution states that expenditure is to support the school in providing for the students educational, social, cultural and sporting activities.

The PTA has once again committed $7000.00 to the school.  Along with this we have agreed to purchase and provide funding for the following items:

Performing artists to visit the school  $1500.00 for 2010

Hardship Sponsorship for OPC $1000.00

Three Hexagonal tables for the playground $900.00

Wet day games for each room – eight rooms $800.00 in total

Two digicams with memory stick for school use $500.00

Two table tennis tables $600.00

Junior school reading $500.00

OPC donation $200.00

Rooms five and six trip to Kelly Tarltons $600.00

We all work really hard for this money in our fundraising endeavors and so we would like your ideas on how we should spend the money.

The PTA would like a wish list so we can then direct our fundraising to specific items – so far we have couches for the library and Lego – more ideas would be great.  If you have an idea let one of the members of the PTA know and we will place it on our list.

Sausage Sizzle

Reminder that this is available for your children each week on Friday - $1.50 for a sausage and $1.00 for a juicee – great chance to provide your child with a cooked lunch and support the school.  Bring your $2.50 on Friday and there is a list in all classrooms.

We are looking for someone that has an hour to spare every second Friday to count the money and organize the bread and sausages or if you can’t do that but can spare an hour once a term to cook the sausages – call Sally on 4344181 or see Jo Kelly or Cindy Revington at school.
